Partnerships

The Idaho Community Foundation is proud to partner with others to strengthen the work of nonprofits, convene community leaders and celebrate philanthropy.

Women’s Giving Circles

The concept of women’s giving circles is simple, but powerful. Each woman in the group pays an annual membership fee, and the fees are pooled together. The group gathers to decide which organizations in their community should receive grants. As more members join, the grants grow larger.

We assist women’s giving circles by collecting membership fees, investing endowments and providing grantmaking services. We support the charitable work of:
Women’s Gift Alliance (Kootenai County)
Women’s Giving Connection of Southern Idaho (Cassia, Jerome, Minidoka and Twin Falls counties)
Wood River Women’s Foundation (Blaine County)

Together Idaho and Community Funds

We launched the Together Idaho Affiliate Program in 2011 to provide rural communities a way to build charitable funds to forever support local projects. Our Together Idaho Affiliates are:

The Together Idaho Affiliate Program was replaced by Community Funds. An individual, group or organization can create a Community Fund that benefits a specific community in Idaho – a town, a county or other defined region.

Community Funds have an Advisory Committee comprised of people who live in the area who decide how the Fund’s grant process will work for proposals and awards. The Advisory Committee recommends how the Fund should be distributed.

The Idaho Community Foundation Board of Directors has final approval of grant awards. ICF verifies all recipients and processes payments.

Community Fund establishment is by application only. Community Funds have a minimum contribution of $50,000, with a 5-year pledge option.

United for ALICE

ICF is a statewide champion supporter of the United Way ALICE Report: A Study of Financial Hardship. ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed.

The report shows that 40 percent of the 4.95 million households in Idaho, Oregon and Washington don’t earn enough to make ends meet. Nearly 2 million of those can’t afford a basic monthly budget of housing, food, childcare, healthcare, transportation and a smartphone. ALICE residents are people we all depend on every day. They are cashiers, childcare workers, food service personnel, librarians, teachers and more.
